Our School

The mission of Granville Elementary School is to prepare students to cooperate and contribute in an ever-changing and diverse global society by using a challenging, integrated curriculum that promotes integrity as well as individual excellence for creating a caring community of life-long learners.

Achievement
Granville Elementary School has earned an Excellent rating from the Ohio Department of Education. We reached all three state indicators, including: third grade reading and math; and attendance. In addition, we continue to maintain an outstanding Performance Index Score and make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as required by the state of Ohio.

We are also proud of our national ranking as a National Blue Ribbon School!

Safety
Granville Elementary School is safe and secure. The school campus consists of two buildings connected by an enclosed breezeway. All doors are locked during school hours. Parents and visitors should park on Sunrise Street, use the main entrance and sign-in to receive a visitor’s badge. For student safety, bus drop-off and parent pick-up are in separate locations. We conduct regular fire, tornado and lock-down drills as required by Ohio law.

Academics
The GES staff believes student success begins with strong parent partnerships.  We focus on reading, language arts and math to develop fundamental learning skills. Learning is further enhanced through art, music and physical education. Special classes and library also boost learning potential.

Parents as Partners
GES has many diverse opportunities for parents to partner with us. Our Granville K-6 Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is proud to have over 500 families participating in important student-focused projects. Volunteers are welcomed to work one-on-one with students, assist teachers, and support staff.

Character
At GES, we grow children into wise decision-makers. We guide their ability to choose between right and wrong, how to be good citizens, and model good character. Educating the whole child is our standard.

Highlights
School Age Child Care (SACC) is offered at GES. SACC is professionally managed by a licensed childcare administrator, Love and Learning Child Care Center. To learn more, click here to visit the website.
